Seminar - Workshop for Strengthening Hemispheric skills IICA Rural Development, held in Quito, Ecuador from 25 to November 28, 2008, was designed to strengthen the technical capabilities of the professional team of IICA on key themes relating to the management of sustainable rural development approach, through the updating of skills and concepts, exchange of experience, a record shared institutional tools and analysis of the available material.
Shared learning, dialogue and reflection during the sessions were enriched by lessons learned in the various countries and best practices shared among participants.
Objectives:
· Strengthen the technical capabilities of the staff of IICA in key areas of management of rural development with sustainable approach by updating skills, conceptual and methodological clarification, the exchange of experiences and material analysis instrumentation available.
· Stimulate the formation of a network of experts and technicians to establish since 2009 to strengthen the enabling knowledge management system as a contribution to the continuous improvement of the technical capabilities of IICA as a whole.
· Establish and strengthen links between complementary areas for improving technical cooperation activities through the realization of inter-thematic linkages mainly: Agribusiness Rural Agriculture Organic Farm, SAIA and Natural Resources, giving priority to rural areas where agriculture predominates Familiar.
· Continuing the process of strengthening institutional capacities and skills of technical staff in the process management approach with DRS.
