Precision agriculture:
New tools to improve technology management in agricultural enterprises
 

Precision agriculture is an approach to agricultural land management that is based on the identification and interpretation of in-field spatial variability.
It involves the use of a number of new technologies such as global positioning systems (GPS), sensors and satellite and aerial imagery, in conjunction with geographic information systems (GIS).


In this document, readers will be introduced to the concepts behind these technologies and information on their application in different areas, with a view to promoting their use, fostering their analysis and understanding, and explaining the benefits, complexities and limitations of their use.
